About the Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival, celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, is one of China’s most traditional holidays. It honors the memory of Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet from ancient China, and features:
Dragon Boat Races – Vibrant competitions symbolizing the rescue attempt of Qu Yuan.
Zongzi (Sticky Rice Dumplings) – Delicious treats wrapped in bamboo leaves, enjoyed during the festival.
Cultural Customs – Wearing aromatic sachets and hanging mugwort for good health and protection.
